19 May Physician Burnout
May is Mental Awareness Month. As physicians, we’ve been under a lot of pressure with the pandemic, physician burnout has been in the news lately. Burnout has also been called moral injury and it is currently at an all-time high. So, how do we as physicians help ourselves when it comes to our own wellness?
One of the ways is through coaching.
Physicians are getting coached and they are themselves becoming coaches. The research has shown that this is beneficial for doctors for life and job satisfaction.
Here’s a link to a recent research article that was published in JAMA documenting evidence that coaching works for physicians.
What do you think? What are ways you alleviate stress in your daily life?
I would love to hear from you.
